Concept Mapping

A concept map is exactly what it sounds like a map of a concept.  It makes it simple to understand an idea and linking ideas.

Essential Question: How many types of muscles are there and what role do they play in our lives?

Concept Map Integration Plan: A concept map will be generated from powerpoint.  It will be around shown around the end of the lesson to help students have a strong understanding of the subject in its entiriety. 

Brief description of the Instruction Plan: Students will go through the lecture and power point.  The powerpoint contains a concept map, and video links that describe mucles and their fucntion.  After the students have the basic concept of muscles they will work in groups to create a powerpoint that better helps them understand the muscular system.  They will use online resources to help them better understand their muscle. 
Additional Technology Integration to be Used:  This lesson will use powerpoint, and video links.  The students will also use the internet to expand their knowledge and create a powerpoint on their muscle. 

Description of the ‘relative advantage’ of all technology being used in this lesson: The lesson will take advantage of power point, video links, and a concept map.  These will all give an advantged to the typical classroom setting.  They will help students visualize what and understand the concepts put in place.
